Thermal energy—or “heat”—resides within the infrared spectrum, which is invisible. A spot thermometer sensor is capable of converting thermal energy into a temperature measurement, while a thermal imaging detector converts thermal energy into an electronic thermal image that can be viewed on an LCD screen.
The TG165 utilizes both of these types of infrared technology, simultaneously. This allows you to instantly see what’s hot and where to aim and it eliminates blind guesswork. The FLIR TG165 has a 24:1 spot size ratio for safer distance measuring and requires no special training to operate it.
